Catherine Morgans


Catherine joined Ergon as a researcher in 2016. Prior to this, she worked in due diligence and risk consultancy, primarily advising corporate clients on reputational and regulatory challenges in their Brazil, Latin America and Lusophone Africa-related transactions. Catherine’s expertise lie in these regions, and beyond her professional and academic work, she has contributed to several related non-profit initiatives.

Other areas in which Catherine has a particular knowledge and interest include:

- Human rights and labour rights issues in agriculture and extractive industry supply chains

- Land rights issues and agrarian reform

- Business engagement with social movements and civil society

- Decent work challenges in the informal sector

Catherine holds a BA in International Development and Portuguese and an MAR (Master of Arts by Research) specialising in Brazilian social movements, both from the University of Leeds.
