Beyond Thailand: decent work in fishing

Broad media coverage of forced labour and other abuses in the Thai fishing sector has led to much soul-searching among brands and a range of initiatives. However, as Brett Dodge explains, it is also creating an awareness that these risks are not confined to Thailand. In fact, intrinsic factors - isolated working environments, weak law enforcement, cost pressures - make workers in the fishing sector singularly vulnerable to exploitation.
